Gulf Breeze's Brown turns 104 years old

Brown
Mildred Brown moved to California as a teenager. She married Bernard Brown, an Oscar winning sound director, who was nominated for the Oscar for sound directing for eight years in a row.

She and her husband lived a glamorous Hollywood lifestyle. They were friends with performers like Charlie Chaplin, Errol Flynn, singer Dianna Durbin and many others. Brown, 104, was also a recognized painter and owned a gallery of her own in Las Villas. She is still a beautiful woman and is very spry. Brown is very quiet for the most part but will answer nearly any question people ask and she still has her sense of humor.

"I have had the privilege of caring for Mrs. Brown for about six months," said Evelyn McClain. "Each day is a joy. Anytime I am stressed she can smile at me and it lift my spirits. She is a joy and a pleasure to be around. I consider it an honor that she allows me to care for her."
