CVS building leased to Moulton Properties The future of the former CVS building is now in the hands of local developer Moulton Properties. The vacant building on the corner of Hwy. 98 and Daniel Drive is being leased by the company as of Friday, Feb. 16. There is already buzz about what will be coming next to Gulf Breeze's business district. "Moulton Properties has assumed CVS' (lease) rights," explains Mary Moulton, Vice President. "We do not have specific plans for the building and will be working on a conceptual development plan over the next couple of months." City officials expressed relief that the building will have tenants after being vacant for so long. "I think it's a negative to have an empty building in Gulf Breeze," said City Manager Edwin "Buz" Eddy. Eddy said he's spoken with the Moultons about drafting ideas for the building's use. So far, there are plans to subdivide the space to lease it to multiple occupants. "I think that whatever they do to the building will complement the downtown area," "The Moulton's have a history of developing some beautiful retail and office property," said Dee Dee Ritchie, NAI Halford leasing broker. "This is certainly a great location. Their taking over this property is a great asset to the City of Gulf Breeze." Ritchie declined comment on the value of the lease, but stated market rates between $16 and $35 per sq.ft. for that area. |
