Hawaii

We are in America's 50th state. While I have been here many times, 'Lishous has never been.

We are having a ball, but again traveling with her is a total hoot.

To begin with, for Christmas I brought her a GPS system, and yes, sure as heck, she left it at home.

We we got to Oahu, we took in the Arizona Memorial and the Hawaiian Culture Center, but the trouble began when she tried to use the map to get us around. I'm trying not to get run over by Japanese and Chinese drivers, and she is the co-pilot as usual. Well, by the time she spelled out the streets I was past them.

She had trouble with Piiaouii, and Kailuahamoha, and things like that. She tried to spell out the names and the Hawaiians never had any trouble, as there are only 12 letters in their alphabet, but 'Lishous just never caught on.

When she would yell out a name, it was never the way it should have sounded, and we did 866 U-Turns on one way streets in six days. We had fun and the people as always were wonderful.

We'll see you when we get home again.
