MEADOWS

Paul M. Meadows, age 84, of Dover, Delaware, went with The Lord on February 2, 2007 after an extended illness. Dr. Meadows was born in Athens, Alabama. He attended schools in Milledgeville, Georgia and at age 19 volunteered for the U.S. Army where he served for four years. After graduating from Harvard Medical School and receiving his training in Diagnostic Radiology at the New England Medical Center in Boston and Radiation Oncology at the Los Angeles Tumor institute, he became Director of Radiation Oncology and Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pittsburg, PA and was Eppley Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. During his career he became Director of Radiation oncology at Baptist hospital, Pensacola, Florida and served in the same capacity at the Cancer Center, Bayhealth, Dover, Delaware. During his 40 year career he treated thousands of cancer patients. Dr. Meadows was a member of various medical societies and received honors throughout his career.

Dr. Meadows is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolyn; Five children, Carolyn Lockhart of Daphne, Alabama, Paul Meadows and his wife, Marian of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Craig Meadows and his wife Jeanne of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Laura Brown and her husband, Bernie of Dover, Delaware, Amy Brown and her husband Chris of Selma, North Carolina; sister, Louise Hanson of Sacramento, California; and 11 Grandchildren.

He was a devoted husband, loving father and generous granddad. He was a good samaritan and extremely dedicated physician. He will be greatly missed by all.

The family received friends for visitation from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, February 6t at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Bayview Fisher-Pou is entrusted with the arrangements.
