Dolphins pull out last second win over Escambia

Stuart Franklin's turnaround jumper with six seconds left gave the Gulf Breeze Dolphins a 44-42 win over Escambia Friday in Gulf Breeze.

Matt Patrick, who led the Dolphins (6-17) with 14 points, tied the game with a bucket with 22 seconds. After a steal and a timeout, Franklin scored the game-winning points. He scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Patrick also had six rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in the win. Bryan Shreve added seven points, while David Hibberts had six, Alec Cann, Derek Orban and Marcus Smith two each and Dustin Clements one.

Eric Mims also took a pair of second half charges in the win. Washington 74, Dolphins 49

Cann had 19 points and six rebounds in a losing cause Jan. 23 in Pensacola.

Patrick added 11 poionts, while Shreve had six, Brandon Creager four, Matt Catellier, Jeff White, Franklin and Clements two each and Orban one.

Escambia JV 64, Dolphins 46

Ryan O'Hara had 12 points, Joey Bodovetz nine and Kyle Schnackenberg eight in a loss to the Gators.

Washington JV 53, Dolphins 51 (OT)

Bo Peardon had 19 points, while Colin Kupris had 11 and Schnackenberg 10 in a loss to Washington.

GBHS will host Catholic Friday on Senior Night before hosting West Florida Tech in the 'play in game'of the District 1-4A Tournament Monday at 6 p.m.
