New marina planned on Pensacola Beach

Santa Rosa Island Authority board members granted conceptual approval to Grand Marlin Marina, a commercial development by Prom Queen, LLC.

Philip Napier, spokesperson for Prom Queen, LLC, got conceptual approval from the Santa Rosa Island Authority to construct a marina at the site of the former Cocoanuts by the Bay restaurant site.

Napier represents Prom Queen, LLC, and they plan to get approval to expand the existing marina lease from 54 slips to accommodate 74 to 80 slips handling 35- to 50-foot vessels.

The marina will have a floating c o n c r e t e dock with perimeter deep-draft wave attenuator sections. Facilities will include fuel facilities, dockside water, restrooms, electrical, trash cans, ship's store, parking and sewage pumpout.

There will be no boat repair yard, Napier says.
