St. Ann changes weekend schedule After much prayer and deliberation, the Parish Council voted on January 22 to change the schedule of weekend activities at St. Ann. St. Ann will slightly shift the times of Mass, adult and youth Faith Formation and youth programs beginning the first weekend of Lent, February 24 - 25. Expanding the time for Faith Formation and bringing Life Teen into the morning will help pass on the faith to the next generation, Monsignor Luke Hunt told parishioners at two meetings on Sunday, January 21. The "Generations of Faith" model will bring a new dynamic to Sunday mornings, he said. Msgr. Luke Hunt, because of his work with the National Council of Priests and as Vicar General of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, is aware the coming trends in the Church at large. St. Ann is ready for the next step, and can to be proactive in any upcoming change, he said. Traditional age-grouped catechesis continues (Sunday school and Youth programs) in this new schedule, with new choices for adults including book study, topic discussions and speakers. Life Teen and Edge (middle school and high school catechesis) programs will continue, adjusted to the new schedule. With the expansion of breakfast time between the Sunday Masses, parishioners can eat together before Sunday School, Youth Ministry and Adult Formation. The Parish Council, using input from parishioners, approved this schedule: Saturday 4 - 5 p.m.: Vigil Mass - Traditional Music during Standard Time 5 - 6 p.m. Vigil Mass during Daylight Savings Time (March 11- November 4) Reconciliation follows Mass each Saturday, or by appointment Sunday 8:15 - 9:15 a.m.: Mass - Traditional Music 9 - 10 a.m. Breakfast (Mass at Our Lady: 9:45 a.m.) 10 - 10:50 a.m.: Sunday School, Youth Ministry and Adult Study 11 a.m. - noon: Mass - Contemporary Music 12:30 - 2 p.m.: Confirmation (ending March 25). St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze, and Our Lady of the Assumption Mission, Pensacola Beach, together are a parish of over 2,700 persons serving the community in body, mind and spirit.
