Thursday

8 p.m. on CBS

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: And you thought chop shops were only for motor vehicles. Nick and Keppler (George Eads, Liev Schreiber) investigate the death of a man whose body was torched after his bones and tissue were harvested. They soon uncover a link to the grisly illegal trade in human body parts. A married woman's murder leads Warrick and Sara (Gary Dourdan, Jorja Fox) into a new kind of social scene. Gordon Clapp guest stars in the new episode "Meet Market."

9:01 p.m. on NBC

ER: This new episode is called "Murmurs of the Heart," but murmurs are subtle, and the action here is anything but. Gates and Neela (John Stamos, Parminder Nagra) find Meg (Paula Malcomson) unconscious in a car and struggle to revive her. Ames (Forest Whitaker) ups the stakes in his efforts to get revenge against Luka (Goran Visnjic). And Sam (Linda Cardellini) thinks she knows who torched her house.

Friday

7 p.m. on ABCFAM

Steel Magnolias: Mention this 1989 comedy-drama, and most people will flash on its tear-jerker ending. That's a pity, because it's packed with laughs before and even after the tragic event. Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Sally Field, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis and Julia Roberts light up the screen and pepper the air with commentary that's occasionally sweet, often acidic, but always witty. The byplay between Dukakis and MacLaine is priceless.

Saturday

7 p.m. on TNT

Remember the Titans: Not a great film in most respects, but it is a very good one, especially for Super Sunday eve viewing. This fact-based 2000 drama stars Denzel Washington as a football coach charged with integrating his high school's first multiracial team in 1971. It doesn't hurt to have excellent supporting work from Donald Faison ("Scrubs"), Will Patton and Nicole Ari Parker, but it's definitely Washington who carries the film across the goal line.

8 p.m. on ABC

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy: This broad comedy about a narcissistic 1970s newscaster (Will Ferrell) who feels threatened by the arrival of an ambitious female (Christina Applegate) really should be much funnier than its uneven script allows it to be, but Ferrell's apparently limitless comic creativity saves the day in a performance that is somehow both totally over the top and utterly believable at the same time. Paul Rudd, Vince Vaughn and Steve Carell also star.

Sunday

1 p.m. on CBS Super Bowl Today: The "Road to the Super Bowl" followed by "Phil Simms All-Iron Team" begin CBS' daylong football extravaganza, and it continues for the next fourplus hours until the game's kickoff with "Super Bowl Today." Hosted by James Brown, Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason and Dan Marino, the pregame includes a performance by Cirque du Soleil, in addition to the usual in-depth team and player features.

9 p.m. on CBS

Criminal Minds: Dawson Leery a psycho? A special airing in the plum post-Super Bowl time slot casts former "Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek as a messedup guy who takes Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) hostage. Reid uses his profiling skills to try getting inside his captor's twisted mind, but his own brain is a little twisted at the moment, as the man has drugged him. Paget Brewster and Mandy Patinkin also star in the new episode, whose story concludes Wednesday.

Monday

7 p.m. on CBS

How I Met Your Mother: Don't put the beer and chicken wings away yet, guys; there's still a little more football fever in the air. In this new episode, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) runs into Emmitt Smith on the street and can't believe his eyes. The former Dallas Cowboy, who still holds the title of the NFL's all-time rushing leader, guest stars as himself, of course.

Tuesday

8 p.m. on NBC Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Warning: Historical re-enactments may be hazardous to your health. In the new episode "Albatross," a man is killed in a re-creation of the 1804 duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. Goren and Eames (Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe) question the other participant (guest star Xander Berkeley), who happens to be married to a very ambitious politician (guest star Donna Murphy) with a dirty little secret.

Wednesday

7 p.m. on PBS

America's Ballroom Challenge: Who needs celebrities? A ballroom dancing competition is a lot more fun to watch when the contestants are real experts, not D-list "stars" stumbling their way through. So if you like hot ballroom moves but couldn't stand "Dancing

With the Stars," this five-part series will be more

your style. There's only one actor in the bunch,

and she's the co-host: Marilu Henner, who calls the action with former U.S. Latin dance champ Tony Meredith.

9 p.m. on ABC

Lost: They're back, but they're late. The hit drama series about plane crash survivors returns

to finish the season in a later time slot.

In the new episode "Not in Portland," Jack (Matthew Fox) holds the fate of one of the

Others in his hands, while another "Other"

becomes an ally for Kate and

Sawyer (Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway). Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) faces a big decision.
