LETTERS TO THE EDITOR I saw the Amsouth reopening article and, as the building owner, I just wanted to point out a few items. The current owner, Development South, took title to the property in July of 2006. We worked diligently to plan and execute a complete redevelopment / rebuild and landscape. Including, but not limited to extensive code upgrades, design features and the integration of an entirely new fire sprinkler installation. The results speak for themselves. We are not associated with the former owners or their lack of effective effort to remove the damaged building's blight from the Gulf Breeze streetscape and accommodate Amsouth's return in a timely fashion. Instead, we are the catalyst and implementer of recovery. Additionally, please note we have engaged the services of Beck Realty to handle the leasing of the two entirely new second and third floors. Thank you for the coverage of this property, which we are proud to have brought back into commerce in this community. Please call me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Chris Bellone Development South, LLC Ace important in many lives My name is Kristi Renfroe Wilson. I am married to Officer Dalyn Wilson, who was K9 Ace's handler for the first six years that Ace was with the Gulf Breeze Police Department. I just wanted to let you know that Ace was an important part of our lives, so I made a couple of websites to honor him and his work, and was wondering if you would mind mentioning them in this weeks GBN along with the write up of his service. The kids can leave comments on the pages if they like. If anyone has any good pictures on file and would like to forward them to me, I would love it...and can add them to the websites. Thank you so much for letting Gulf Breeze know what a special dog this was to many people. www.myspace.com/K9aceg ulfbreezepolice, www.ILovedmypet.com/K9 acegbpd Kristi Renfroe Gulf Breeze Talent in 'Millie' I just wanted to sing praises to all the talented individuals who performed in Saturday night's production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie!" I mean to tell you that the performance was flawless and very professional. Each character was perfectly cast. The choreography was superb. The costumes were gorgeous. As I sat there and watched these hard working high school students perfect what they have been rehearsing for 4 or so months, I would have to remind myself that I was not at a Broadway series show, I was at a high school production. The singing was some of the best I have heard around here for a group of that age and size. The blend was wonderful. I want to name names, but I don't want to leave anyone out, so I will refrain for doing that. ALL hats go off to only one name that I will mention and that is to Margie Timmons for the gift she has to produce such a fabulous show! We thank you Margie and ask God to continue to bless you as you give to these kids a memory for the rest of their lives. Thank you for such enjoyment, a wonderful job well done by all of you! Janice Routh Gulf Breeze Well done Gulf Breeze Soundwave Hats off! to the members of the GBHS Soundwave on a successful trip to the Orange Bowl! As a high school and college trumpet playing "band geek", I learned that so many wonderful times and fond memories are made through this wonderful organization called Band. Regular football games are fun but throw in the chance to represent your school in a competition, bowl game, inaugural parade or other events and you see how all of the hard work pays off. You represented your school and town well! Congratulations on a job well done! Lisa Compton Gulf Breeze Watching other stations My mother and grandmother enjoyed ABC stations for their ethical news and good quality programming. But they are disappointed ABC will not be letting Mediacom broadcast their stations. We look forward for a resolution in this in the near future. Till then we will miss ABCs programming. We will be spending our time watching other stations' programming. Timothy Passmore Navarre Thanks for the kind write-up about my grandfather, Ben Farrens. I really appreciate it. He's quite a character. I'm thankful that he and my Grandmother have finally settled into the community after being displaced from New Orleans following Best, Benjamin J.
