GB shooter, burglar still at large

The investigation of a burglary and shooting in Gulf Breeze that occurred on Jan. 6 at OBO Auto Sales on Fordham Pkwy. continues.

Santa Rosa Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the establishment in reference to a burglary/shooting. Upon arrival, deputies were told that the victim went to Sacred Heart Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh.

During the late night hours of Jan. 6, an employee of OBO Auto Sales was driving by the business and noticed that a light was on inside and there was an unfamiliar vehicle present. The employee went to check on this and found a man burglarizing the establishment. An argument ensued, at which time the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the employee. Sheriff's officials are still trying to locate the suspect.
