Internet crime prevention workshop today

Gulf Breeze, FL- Dr. James E. Martin, Vice President for Student Affairs at Pensacola Junior College and Chairperson of the Gulf Breeze Area Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force has announced that the program for the January 18th meeting will feature Officer Chris Wilkinson, of the Pensacola Police Department and Co-Chair of the Northwest Florida Child Pornography Task Force and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Officer Wilkinson will be presenting a community education workshop on internet crimes involving children. He'll discuss and provide information regarding recent trends in internet solicitation of children by child predators. Officer Wilkinson will also discuss what parents and educators can do to educate children of such illegal activity.

With recent high profile arrests of internet child predators made by local law enforcement agencies, the Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force thought this would be a valuable program for parents, educators, and community members alike.

The program will be held at 12:00 noon, on January 18, 2007 in the Media Center of the Gulf Breeze Elementary School. The Public is invited to attend. Seating is limited.
