George Scarborough launches Florida State House campaign

Scarborough
Gulf Breeze businessman George Scarborough will be running to fill the District 3 House seat left vacant by Holly Benson.

Scarborough says his first order of business in Tallahassee will be fighting for homeowners and taxpayers.

"My neighbors and friends across Pensacola and Gulf Breeze are facing skyrocketing tax increases and insurance rate hikes. Too many politicians in Tallahassee have been more interested in protecting special interests in Tallahassee and tax collectors in our city halls. That has to stop now," Scarborough said.

Scarborough said he supports a plan to limit the amount of property taxes raised by local governments. "It's time to fight City Hall and tell them enough is enough. These staggering property tax increases are hurting homeowners and c r i p p l i n g small business o w n e r s . That's bad news for all of us."

The election will be held four weeks from today. "We are the only campaign that has the grassroots program and financial support to win this election," Scarborough said.

His consulting business ran and won all five primary races he managed in the 2006 elections. In addition, Scarborough Consulting, Inc. promotes tourism in the area and for produces the Gulf Coast Technology Summit and Exposition, an Information Technology Trade Show spotlighting the Pensacola area as a potential hub for "IT" businesses for several years. George Scarborough is the president of Scarborough Consulting, Inc.

George volunteers as a youth league baseball and football coach, and served on the Board of Directors for WSRE-TV (a PBS affiliate), the Selective Service Committee, the U.S. Navy's Starbase Atlantis youth program, the Gulf Breeze Parks and Recreation Board and the Pensacola Opera.
