"All those that wonder are not lost!"
I love bumper stickers, I once wanted to make a living just selling them. They can change attitudes in a single sentence. Some speak louder than entire books on certain subjects. I just love them. I once had an old Jeep that many claimed the only thing holding it together was the bumper stickers, but I often caught people taking photos of that jeep to save for a memory or two. Ivan took that Jeep from all of us, but now I got an "old truck" that I can't wait to adorn with my first bumper sticker! All that wonder are not lost, indeed. First and foremost, let me tell you, I am not ever lost. I may wander, become disoriented, and my car has gotten too drunk to drive at times, but I am never lost. Every New Year we come up with new resolutions. I gave up on that long ago. My resolution for the last 35 years is "not to make any New Years Resolutions! I have been able to keep that one. I over think things at times, but when I do, those become dreams as well. Dreams are probably one of the most important things we have as human beings. It's the challenges, large and small, that are overcome, the ability to work the hours needed to achieve our goal, the humility that we bring to our success. Work, in addition to achieving our goals, lets us look at ourselves objectively and find out just how very good we are. We can't show people our dreams and they die with us, if not turned into work that becomes something we can leave behind. As we approach the new year, it's a perfect time to take a minute or two to find yourself in your work and set yourself on a path of improvement. Reinforce the good and work on the stuff you need to improve on. Turn resolutions into actions and watch dreams come true! Just thought you'd like to know... |
