GB jewelry store robbed Last Thursday, a jewelry thief made off with approximately $5,000 in stolen merchandise in broad daylight. On Jan. 4, Witnesses said a young man entered Beré Jewelers on Gulf Breeze Parkway around 4:45 p.m. and asked to see their selection of high-end earrings for his girlfriend. Sales associates working the floor that day complied, showing the suspect earrings, and then a diamond studded tennis bracelet upon his request. The sales associate handed the bracelet to the alleged thief and demonstrated how to operate the push-lock mechanism. For unspecified reasons, the store employees became suspicious of the suspect and one moved closer to the front door. Without further hesitation, the suspect took the gold, four-carat, diamond bracelet and fled the store. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot and jumping over the wall of the nearby Chanteclaire subdivision. Pensacola Police Department canine officers, Escambia County Sheriff's deputies and Gulf Breeze Police officers searched the surrounding area with no results. According to the police report, the white male in his early twenties was described as having bad teeth, splotchy peeling skin on his hands and dressed in a white oxford shirt, tie, blue jeans, leather jacket and a black beanie. Anyone with any information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Gulf Breeze Police Department at 850-934-5121 or Santa Rosa County Crimestoppers at 850- 437-STOP (7867). |
