Jazz Gumbo this Monday

Jazz Society of Pensacola presents Jazz Gumbo, Monday, Jan. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Phineas Phogg's, Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government Street, Pensacola. Doors open at 6.

Monday's Jazz Gumbo will feature The Modern Jazz Trio with Chip Cothran, keyboard; Ken Chopcinski, bass; Steve Ferry, percussion and vibraphone. This group is the result of a project of the University of West Florida's Music Department, under the supervision of David Shelander, the Director of Jazz Studies. Together they have studied the artistry of the most successful piano trios and integrated them into a style of their own. Currently they perform at Copeland's Restaurant during Sunday Brunch.
