SANDERS

Mrs. Sylvia Kathleen Sanders, age 78 of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and originally from Dothan, Alabama, died on Thursday, December 28, 2006, at a nursing home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Mrs. Sanders was born in Sumrall, Mississippi, to Owen B. and Meredith K. Woodruff Brewer on March 12, 1928, and had resided in the Northwest Florida area for the past six years. She was Methodist in her faith. Mrs. Sanders was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a member of the Delta Delta Delta and the Eastern Star. She was a chemist with an electronic manufacturing company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sanders, Sr., in 1978.

Survivors include her sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold B. Sanders, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama, and William A. and Mary Sanders of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter and sonin law, Kym and Martin Lewis of Gulf Breeze, Florida; brothers and sister-in-law, Olen Brewer and Doug and Francis Brewer, all of Jackson, Mississippi; sisters and brothers in-law, Betty Jo and Sonny Ford of Laurel, Mississippi, Dorothy Sprayberry of Jackson, Mississippi, Joy and Father Bryan Hatchett of Demopolis, Alabama; and grandchildren, Julianne Lewis and Callie Anne Sanders.

A family memorial service to celebrate the life of Sylvia Kathleen Sanders will be conducted from the Chapel of Rose Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Father Bryan Hatchett officiating. A time for a gathering of friends will be Tuesday morning, January 2, 2007 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mrs. Sanders. Mrs. Sanders will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
