Dolphins go 1-2 at Barnstormer
Catellier scores careerhigh 28 in Gulf Breeze's 70-60 win over Cottondale

Matt Catellier hit six three-pointers and finished with a career-high 28 points as the Gulf Breeze Dolphins beat Cottondale 70-60 Friday at the Barnstormer Classic in Panama City.

Catellier also had four assists for the Dolphins (4-9), who outscored the Hornets 19-9 in the third quarter.

Bryan Shreve added 14 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Matt Patrick had 13 points and six rebounds.

David Hibberts added eight points, while Alec Cann had seven points and eight rebounds. Marcus Smith added four, while Jeff White had two. Brandon Creager didn't score, but had six assists and no turnovers.

Gainesville 69, Dolphins 36

The Canes jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minute and never looked back as they cruised past the Dolphins in an opening round game Dec. 27.

Gainesville (8-2) scored 20 points off of their 20 offensive rebounds (GBHS had only six offensive boards), while scoring 10 off of Dolphin turnovers. Conversely, the Dolphins had six second chance points and only three points off of Gainesville turnovers.

Shreve and Derek Orban both had six points for the Dolphins, while Cann, Matt Patrick and Dustin Clements had four each, Eric Mims and Marcus Smith three each and Hibberts, Stuart Franklin and Dane Baker had two each.

Hibberts also had six rebounds in the loss, while Cann had five.

Harpeth (Tenn.) 70, Dolphins 55

The Indians (10-7) led 8-2 after one quarter and led by 15 (21-6) at the half, as the Dolphins shot the ball only seven times in the first two quarters.

Gulf Breeze shot a respectable 48 percent from the field (20-for-42), but Harpeth made 58 percent of its shots (25- for-43).

Hibberts led Gulf Breeze with 10 points, six rebounds and four steals, while Cann had seven points, five rebounds and five steals.

Catellier had seven points and three steals, while Mims had six points. Patrick and White both had five points.

Shreve and Smith both had four points in the loss, while Orban had three and Dustin Clements and Franklin two each.

Gulf Breeze hosts Navarre on Friday and Pine Forest on Tuesday.
