      Deannette Zuniga scored a career-high 18 points, including two free throws with 1.7 seconds left, as the Lady Dolphins squeaked by Catholic 48-46 Friday in Gulf Breeze.

      Even without half of their original starting lineup, the Lady Dolphin soccer team found a way to win. Maggie Rodgers headed in a cross from Noelle Robles with five minutes left to give Gulf Breeze (6-3-1) a 1-0 win over Navarre Saturday at Dolphin Stadium.

Dolphins hand Fort Walton first loss
. 2-1 win GBHS' fourth one-goal win of season
      The GBHS boys soccer team rallied from a goal down to beat previously unbeaten Fort Walton Beach 2-1 at Dolphin Stadium on November 29. Coach Bruce Savage was concerned about his team's long layoff between games. Those concerns seemed to be validated by his team's play for a little over half of the game.

      Gulf Coast Youth Basketball registration underway Youth Select Basketball Team and Player Registration for ages 8-14 for 2008 Gulf Coast Youth Pro Basketball (GCYPB) Season is now open. Basketball try-outs for players are scheduled for December 8-9 at 2 pm, at Wm J. Woodham Middle School.

Dolphin wrestlers beat Tate
      The Gulf Breeze Dolphin wrestling team defeated Tate 48- 30 Nov. 27 in Pensacola. GBHS won five of the top six weight classes in the meet. The following is a match-bymatch breakdown of the meet: 103 lb. class - Summerlin (T) pinned Holden Tibbs (GB), at 1:11.

Atzhorn qualifies for Olympic Trials
. Season starts for Rhodes' Tryon
      University of South Carolina sophomore < B OLD> AndA (GBHS c/'06) took second place in the 200 meter individuamedley at the University of Alabama Classic Friday. His time of 2:06.59 also qualified him for next summer's U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb. His time was almost a full second ahead of the qualifying time of 2:07.39.

'92 Lady Dolphins snap long losing streak

      After going a combined 0-49 the previous two seasons and winning only two games the year before that, the 1992-93 Lady Dolphin basketball team won its first game of the season this week, defeating Freeport 36-33 in the Gulf Breeze Optimist Tournament.
