Vandals damage GBSA baseball field
      When Ron Pulley, director of Gulf Breeze Parks and Recreation, arrived at work on the morning of Nov. 30, he found a very unpleasant surprise. During the previous night, vandals destroyed one of the baseball fields by doing doughnuts with a vehicle.

      Education, and its affect on the local economy, is the focus of new committee at the Gulf Breeze Area Chamber of Commerce. The Education Task Force meets monthly with the Santa Rosa Superintendent of Schools plus principals and assistant principals from the schools in the local area.

Many Christians avoiding new film, 'The Golden Compass'
      The email is clear: "Parents - Be aware of new movie," it states, and goes on to tell how some Christians are boycotting "The Golden Compass" starring Nicole Kidman, because of the author's atheism and the antichurch views espoused in the printed trilogy upon which the movie is based.

Local astronaut heads to space today
      The sky has never been the limit for Pensacola Junior College graduate and NASA pilot/Navy Cmdr. Alan Poindexter. The naval aviator is one of an eight-member crew aboard the Atlantis space shuttle set to launch today for the STS-122/1E mission.

In the spirit of giving
     David and Christina Bryan (right) visited 262 houses to ask for non-perishable food items to help feed others. Their mother, Gina, also helped by writing thank you cards for the children to drop off at the houses when they went back to to pick up the items, which simply read; "Thank you for allowing my children to help do ministry to those in need." David and Christina's "Kids 'can' Help" food drive illustrates just how everyone can make a difference.
