This home, located on the 100 block of Nandina Drive in Gulf Breeze, caught fire at 1 a.m. on Nov. 11. A barking dog and smoke detectors woke up the occupant, a person housesitting for the family while they were out of town. Firefighters responded to the emergency call, but said but much of the home was already destroyed when they arrived. The community is already reaching out to the family, as neighborhood children raised $200 to buy new toys for the family's three children. Jennifer Keenan at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church is collecting baskets of household items such as food and cleaning supplies. Gulf Breeze resident William Morgan III, recently arrested for allegedly stealing pain medication, was found dead in his home on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Morgan previously worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital before his license was suspended for failing a drug test. More...
