GBHS sweeps cross country titles
Feat the first in school history; 12 named All District
      The Gulf Breeze boys and girls cross country teams won the District 1-2A titles Saturday in Niceville, the first time in school history it's ever been done. "We totally dominated," said girls coach Tom Aldridge. The boys teams placed all seven of its runners in the top 15, while the girls had five of their seven there, which with it garners All District honors.

Dolphins lose at PHS
      The Gulf Breeze Dolphin football team will hope to snap one streak and continue another in their season finale Friday against Navarre. The Dolphins (2-7) hope to snap their three-game losing streak, while hoping to stay perfect against the Raiders (6- 2), who will playing their third game in eight days Friday.

Atzhorn third at state
      Aileen Atzhorn closed out a stellar high school career with a third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke at Friday's 2A state swim meet at the Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando. She was fourth in that event last year.

Girls golf sixth at state
      The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin golf team finished sixth the 1A state meet Oct. 30-31 the Ridgewood Lakes Golf & Country Club in Davenport. Coach Mark Kostic described the playing conditions in one word - terrible.

      Friday's Gulf Breeze-Navarre football game won't be the final game for just the Dolphin seniors. It'll also be the swan song for one who's never ran, thrown or caught a touchdown pass, but who's mark is as indelible as anyone who's set foot on the Dolphin Stadium grass during Chris Nemith's tenure as head coach.

Lady Dolphins lose to Chiles
      The Gulf Breeze girls soccer team gave up a pair of goals early in both halves of a 2-1 loss to Chiles Saturday at UWF. The first goal came three minutes into the match when a cross came from the right side, bounced off keeper Anne Preston, off the right post and into the net.

Dolphins split pair at Preseason Classic
      The Gulf Breeze boys soccer team split a pair of matches against Okaloosa County schools last week at Twin Oaks Park in Niceville. Dolphins 4, Choctaw 2 Sophomore Jack Begley had two goals and an assist as the Dolphins scored twice in the final 12 minutes to beat the Indians Oct. 28.

Girls basketball team looking make big jump forward in 2008
      Jarrod Denmon is hoping for no 'sophomore jinx' as he enters his second season as the Lady Dolphin basketball coach - the freshman one was bad enough. Denmon had no returning starters from a team that won 17 games the year before.

Dolphin JV, ninth graders lose to PHS
      The Dolphin JV and freshmen football teams hosted the Pensacola High Tigers on Thursday November 1. PHS ninth grade 42, Dolphins 7 Eric Adams had 88 yards rushing and six yards receiving for the Dolphins.

Savage All GSC for third straight year
Adams earns first All GSC honor
      UWF senior Keith Savage (GBHS c/o '03) became only the 10th soccer player in Gulf South Conference history to be named to the GSC first team three consecutive years. Savage has 14 goals and eight assists on the season and is one short of tying the school's all-time assist record.

Tiger Point midgets win playoff opener
      Cantonment's White Midgets missed a game-tying kick with 20 seconds to go as Tiger Point won its first ever postseason football game 8-6 Saturday in Navarre. C.J. Nelson scored from 10 yards out in the first quarter to make it 6-0. Chandler Foxworth made the kick. Gray Dorsey completed several passes in the game, including a 20 yarder to Patrick Turnipseed.
