Ambitious Optimists set goals for 07-08

      It is amazing that a small island civic association of just around 50 members can attempt to pull off such grand projects year after year to benefit the area's schoolchildren, the needy, hospitalized child cancer patients; and even kick off the Christmas season here on the beach with multiple events, but the Pensacola Beach Optimist Club (PBOC) is at it again!

Girls night of shopping and visiting
     Last Thursday, at "Girls Night Out" LEE TRACY welcomed special guest Jana Deluca shown here with customer Nora Jones. Jana is the proud owner of Pearl After Pearl, and was present for a delightful evening where she shared her custom jewelry with the women. Veteran's Day parade is Sunday
      A Pensacola Beach tradition, the Veteran's Day parade, is scheduled Sunday afternoon on Pensacola Beach. The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Avenida 10 then travels west to Sidelines Restaurant where it turns left and ends at the Gulfside Pavilion. For details, call 850-932-1500.

A letter of thanks is appropriate for Veterans
      World War I was "the war to end all wars," but that was a dream that has not to come to fruition. It was considered officially ended on June 28, 1919, when the Treaty of Versailles was signed. However, seven months earlier there was an armistice between the Allied nations and Germany, which went into effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
