Vikings blank undermanned Dolphins
      A short handed Dolphin football team put up a good fight, but lost 28-0 Monday at Fort Walton. The game was postponed due to threatening weather in the area Friday. Girls golf wins Miracle Strip tourney again
      The Gulf Breeze girls golf team avenged its only loss of the season with a win at the Miracle Strip Golf in Fort Walton. It's marked the second straight year the Lady Dolphins have won that event. Nine teams competed in the nine team, 18-hole meet, with Gulf Breeze edging Niceville by four shots. Niceville handed GBHS its only loss of the season the week before.

Gulf Breeze grad Hayes conference leader in assists
      Jaime Hayes is making the most of her opportunity as a first year starter at St. Andrews Presbyterian College. A2006 Gulf Breeze grad, Hayes is the Conference Carolinas leader in assists (232) and assists per game (10.55). In a five match conference play stretch, Hayes averaged 37 assists and 12 digs a match. St. Andrews went 3-2 in that stretch.

     Jacqueline Kasler (right) and Jennifer Pfeifler won the 16s Florida State Doubles Championships Sept. 16 in Daytona Beach. It was the first Florida State doubles title for Kasler. "It makes it extra sweet to win it with her best friend," mother Corine said. "Most people in South Florida don't know where Gulf Breeze is. They will now."

Navarre beats Gulf Breeze in five
      The Navarre Lady Raider volleyball team had its season end last year on their home floor by Gulf Breeze. They got a little bit of revenge Thursday as they rallied from two games to one down to beat the Lady Dolphins 23-25, 25-11, 19-25, 25-14, 15-10. The win gave Navarre sole possession of first place in the district, as well as perfect (11-0) on the season.

Tiger Mini Mites, Midgets, GB White Mites claim inaugural cowbell
      Tiger Point went 2-1 in the inaugural Gulf Breeze News Bowl Saturday at Tiger Point Park. The Tiger Point Mini Mites and Midgets both shut out their Gulf Breeze White counterparts to win the inaugural cowbell, while the GBSA White Mites won an overtime thriller, 6-0, over the Tigers.

      The Gulf Breeze Dolphin football team hopes history will repeat itself on Friday as the 1992 Dolphins upset the secondranked Catholic Crusaders 16-15. Damen King intercepted a Catholic pass with 1:04 left in the game to seal the win.

Bayside U12s second at Endless Summer Soccer tourney
      The Bayside U12 boys soccer team recently took second place in the Endless Summer Soccer Tournament in Panama City. Bayside defeated Bay United and Crestview Southern Soccer Academy by identical 5-2 scores on Sept. 15 before losing two to the Dothan Youth U12s, including 6-1 in the championship game.
