New watch program helps boaters protect homeland, each other
A neighborhood watch-style terrorism deterrent
      As America enters a new era of increased terrorist threats at home, citizens across the country are being asked to keep on the lookout for suspicious activities. BoatU.S. believes recreational boaters can do their part through "America's Waterway Watch," a program that enlists the active participation of those who play, work or live around America's waterways.

Life's a Vette ...
     More than 100 Corvettes will be on display this Saturday, Sept. 29 on Pensacola Beach at the Annual "Life's a Vette on the Beach" Corvette show. The show lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Casino Beach parking lot underneath the Beach Ball and is open to the public. Proceeds benefit Covenant Hospice.       Well, football season has arrived in the Southland. It is time to get the extra TV set up, order the weenies, reattach the tailgate and get ready for the road trips. College football rules in the south. We are becoming Pro Football fans, but we have long traditions and just get rabid about the Seminoles, the Gators, the Tigers, and Roll Tide Roll.

Without a purpose, our lives soon run out of fuel
      In 1991, during an Air Canada flight, and while passengers were enjoying an in-flight movie on the Boeing 767, the jumbo jet's engines abruptly stopped. At first only those without earphones on noticed anything. However, soon the entire group of passengers realized the jet was in trouble.
