      I have to say something about Sen. Larry Craig from Idaho and his recent stupidity. Just can't let this one go by. What an IGMO! I understand several prominent Senators are asking for him to resign and a couple of them are asking for his phone number! What a mess this is.

Environmental leader discusses agency's beach policies, climate change
      BOCA RATON - Addressing resource managers, engineers, consultants, local and state government employees, Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary (DEP) Michael W. Sole spoke recently at the Florida Shore & Beach Preservation Association's Annual Meeting. Secretary Sole spoke about agency priorities for Florida's beach management program.

Committee for Sustainable Emerald Coast meets today at Hilton
      A public workshop will convene at 4 - 6 p.m. The Committee for a Sustainable Emerald Coast (CSEC) will meet today from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Pensacola Beach, 12 Via De Luna Drive, Pensacola Beach. During the Committee Meeting (8:30 - 3:50 p.m.), findings from previous meetings and subcommittee progress reports will be discussed.

NW Florida Garden Clubs to meet at the Beach
      The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) will hold their District I Fall Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 3 hosted by the Green Thumb Garden Club of Santa Rosa Beach. Four counties of Northwest Florida garden clubs in District 1 will participate in the fall conference.

Zoo is topic of upcoming forum at PJC
      A few weeks ago, the news became public that the Zoo of Northwest Florida was facing a financial crisis, caused in part by Hurricane Ivan. Since then, many local residents stepped up to help raise the $1 million needed toward the $3 million Zoo staff says it needs to become financially stable. Others want more information before they make a commitment to helping the zoo.
