The Gulf Lady Dolphin volleyball team bounced back from a loss to Catholic to defeat Pace 23-25, 25-5, 15-12 Saturday in the Lady Dolphin Preseason Classic Saturday. A block by Jasmine Crowell tied game one with Catholic at 3. But the Lady Crusaders forced a sideout, then added three points on serve to take the lead. More ... Two members of the GBHS golf team placed in the recent Panhandle Junior Golf Tour event at Shalimar Pointe Country Club on August 18-19. More ... Love Hurts, a local 3.5 women's tennis team, recently won their local district, then regionals and sectional meets to qualify for the National 3.5 Tournament in Las Vegas. Four of the ladies - Heidi Wilkes, Michelle Covell, Jennie Barrow and Leeann Pugh - have won all their matches so far. The team has a 15-0 record through three rounds of play. More ... The Dolphins' Kickoff Classic was a learning experience for players and coaches alike. The ninth grade and junior varsity squads both played a quarter against Crestview's freshmen. They lost by a combined score of 42-0. "I was disappointed in our JV kids," coach Chris Nemith said. More ...
