      After (time) of deliberating the definition of a hotel, the Santa Rosa Island Authority finally laid down a set of policies to ensure that hotels are constructed on properties designated for transient lodging.

Little Sabine Bay project gets funding
      The Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board awarded a $375,000 Florida Forever capital improvement grant to the Santa Rosa Island Authority for a project that will improve circulation and water quality in Little Sabine Bay. This grant will help match $1 million in local funding and another $1 million in state funding contributed toward this project.

      As the July 4th holiday remains one of the busiest boating weekends of the year, safety advocates say life jackets could play a pivotal role in keeping boaters out of harm's way this holiday. Research conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard continues to indicate that wearing a life jacket is the number one safety precaution boaters can take on the water.
