      Well, I've been on tour and when I get home from weeks on the road, I have a strange habit. 'Lishous saves all the newspapers from the three towns I love, Nashville, Gulf Breeze and Pensacola and I read them all at once. Often it is like a book with no ending. I then make a big fire with them all and watch my stress fly away with the ashes. It works for me, so don't laugh!!

SRIA will reimburse Portofino lease fees
      Santa Rosa Island Authority will repay Portofino developers over $1 million in lease fees over two years, pending legal review of the decision. The SRIA will pay $741,853.37 of the total now and pay the balance of $295,211.63 when the next fiscal year begins on July 1.

Parking woes spur road realignment discussion
      It's a problem that seems like a chicken and egg debate: should growth fund additional parking spaces on Pensacola Beach or should additional parking spaces facilitate growth? The Santa Rosa Island Authority frequently declines new businesses or expansion of existing businesses because there is a lack of parking on the beach.

Beach park renamed after Harry Gowens
      Harry Gowens, the only recipient of the "Spirit of Pensacola Beach" award, is being memorialized by having a park named after him. The park is located on the north side of Via de Luna, at the corner of Avenida 11. "Harry Gowens has done an awful lot for this beach," said Pensacola Beach Executive Director Sandy Johnston.

Unexpected detours may lead to self-discovery
      The new four-lane highway from the core area of the beach toward the east is an interesting highway. Due to the devastation caused by Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis, the highway ends about four miles east of Portofino. It doesn't go anywhere!
