Dolphins win eight of nine
      While Gulf Breeze High students were off for spring break last week, the baseball team - and their bats - were not. Buoyed by four home runs, the Dolphins cranked out 23 hits in a 29-6 win over Hatley, Miss on March 11. Hatley, located about 30 miles from Tupelo, scored one off a single, a passed ball, a wild pitch and an infield single in the third.

Lady Dolphins lose another tight one to Escambia
      The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin softball team tried to stage a furious seventh inning rally last week at Escambia, only for it to be foiled under the most bizarre of circumstances. Down 7-2 after six innings, Gulf Breeze scored three runs to pull within two runs with nobody out.

Cormier earns All-American honors at South Carolina
Former GBHS athletes making mark in pool, on track and on diamond
      Kyle Cormier added another accolade to his trophy case recently, earning Honorable Mention All American honors as a member of the University of South Carolina swim team. A state champion at GBHS his senior year, Cormier was part of USC's 11th place finish in the 800 meter freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis.

      GBSA cheerleading registration starts Saturday Registration for the 2007 GBSA cheerleading season starts March 17 and runs through March 31 for ages 5-14. Local teams take second in pools at Lizardfest
      Two teams in the Pensacola Beach Volleyball Club took second place in their respective consolation brackets at the annual Lizardfest Tournament, sponsored by Volleyball Pensacola last weekend. The U14 team, coached by former Lady Dolphin standout Chelsey Adams, took second in their pool, as did the U16 team, coached by Regina Scott.

GBSA 10s, 12s win at Spring Fling
      Both the GBSA U10 and U12 All Stars won one game during the recent Spring Fling, held at Shoreline Park. GBSA U10s 16, Tiger Point 0 Cole Nitterauer threw a threehitter and struck out three and added a two-run single as Gulf Breeze shut out Tiger Point.

Bayside U11 girls fall in GCI semifinals
      The U11 Bayside girls soccer team lost in the semifinals of the recent Gulf Coast Invitational, 2-1 to the Navarre Thunder. Katie McComber scored off a pass from Brie Rogers before the Thunder scored the gamewinner moments before the second half water break.
