While Gulf Breeze High students were off for spring break last week, the baseball team - and their bats - were not. Buoyed by four home runs, the Dolphins cranked out 23 hits in a 29-6 win over Hatley, Miss on March 11. Hatley, located about 30 miles from Tupelo, scored one off a single, a passed ball, a wild pitch and an infield single in the third. More ... The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphin softball team tried to stage a furious seventh inning rally last week at Escambia, only for it to be foiled under the most bizarre of circumstances. Down 7-2 after six innings, Gulf Breeze scored three runs to pull within two runs with nobody out. More ... Kyle Cormier added another accolade to his trophy case recently, earning Honorable Mention All American honors as a member of the University of South Carolina swim team. A state champion at GBHS his senior year, Cormier was part of USC's 11th place finish in the 800 meter freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis. More ...
