GBHS juniors O'Sullivan, Thompson picked to attend Boys State
Program sponsored by American Legion; duo nominated by Post 379
"It was very difficult to make a choice of only two applicants out of the extremely high quality of applicants that we interviewed. We feel these young gentleman will be outstanding representatives or our Post, Gulf Breeze High School and our community," said Loignon. The Florida American Boy's State program is designed to give delegates from all over the state a working experience in government and encourage young leaders to participate in government and civic programs. O'Sullivan works as a production assistant at WSRE, the local PBS station. He also work four hours a day, everyday, as an intern at the Community Redevelopment Agency of Pensacola and has begun working with Joe Scarborough on the MSNBC program "Scarborough Country."
Thompson is the treasurer of the Junior Statesmen of America, the political debate club at Gulf Breeze High School and plans to run for President of the club his senior year. He is also very active in community civic projects and charity efforts and donates his time tutoring students in chemistry.
