Dr. Andrews performs first surgeries at Andrews Institute
      Dr. James R. Andrews performed the inaugural surgeries at the Andrews Institute on March 9. Conducted in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) of the Andrews Institute, the first patients were residents of northwest Florida and southern Alabama including a junior college baseball player located within the southeast region.

Gulf Breeze Relay reaches out for teams
      Gulf Breeze Relay for Life is still looking for teams for its 2007 event, schedule for May 11 and 12. With an event goal of 37 teams, Gulf Breeze Relay has nearly reached that goal with 27 teams currently on board. "We are very excited about this year's Relay for Life event. We are well on our way with teams, but could always use more," said Event Chair JoAnn Rose.

Just for fun
      Gulf Breeze Hospital employees participated in a pie eating contest March 5. Why? Why not! Maybe because spring is almost here or more likely just to have some laughs, 25 employees paired up in teams, each one consisting of a feeder and an eater, to consume banana, chocolate and coconut cream pies. Food service provider for the hospital Sodexho contributed the sweets and mayhem ensued.
