Bumper stickers and men
      I like bumper stickers! My old Jeep was held together by bumper stickers, and when Ivan took it, the bumper stickers were on the driveway plastered to the pavement. They last forever and can say a message in a single sentence. It is brevity at it's best.

Campanella is PBES's top teacher
      Pensacola Beach Elementary School (PBES) Teacher of the Year Debbie Campanella would never have bet that she'd be 2006 PBES teacher of the year. In fact, she isn't a betting woman. She learned the hard way when she bet Bear Bryant would not lose to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl in 1973.

Free music continues as concert bands meet
      Free concerts and great band music continue through Sunday, March 4 as the Association of Concert Bands convenes on Pensacola Beach. All concerts occur at the Hilton Garden Inn, 12 Via de Luna Drive. The convention includes clinics, special luncheons for association members and nightly concerts, which are open to the public.

Lifeguards may get new fiberglass towers
      The rickety wooden lifeguard towers on Pensacola Beach could be replaced with more modern equivalents if the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) Public Safety Director Bob West has his way. West wants Escambia County officials to purchase six fully enclosed, fiberglass, weather resistant towers.

What will you do when no one else is looking?
      I'm thinking today about character and how important it is in our dealings and relationships with others. If our character is compromised, it is difficult to establish trust whether in our personal relationships or our business. I think Zig Ziglar had it right when he said, "If people like you they'll listen to you, but if they trust you they'll do business with you.

View lunar eclipse Saturday at Ft. Pickens
      This Saturday, March 3, you can see the first of two lunar eclipses of 2007. A one-hour walk celebrating the celestial event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the gate to the Fort Pickens Area. Visitors should be prepared to walk about half a mile down the closed roadway and out to the beach. Bring a blanket or towel and a flashlight.
