Officials from the City of Gulf Breeze are developing a financing plan for the city's long-term debt obligations. Currently, the city has budgeted just over $7.5 million for capital improvement projects, payments on cash flow loans and grant matching. City staff recommends a bond issue. More ... County commissioners have begun to narrow down locations for their proposed courthouse. Out of 50 possible locations throughout the north and central portions of the county, on Feb. 22 commissioners narrowed down possible parcels to two geographic areas. Commissioners favored sites in East Milton due to their close proximity to the county jail. More ... County development officials are preparing for the creation of 650 to 800 new jobs thanks to new additions to the Santa Rosa Industrial Park in East Milton. Five companies already have construction underway for facilities that are expected to support between 130 and 272 jobs, while five more companies are expected to break ground within the next several years. According to reports from Dartmouth, an Ivy League school in New Hampshire, converting a vehicle to run on vegetable oil is easy. Over the course of two months, 14 Dartmouth students traveled over 10,000 miles throughout the United States in a bus powered by Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) spreading the word about alternative fuels.
