Edward Jones' Shanks earns Series license
Shanks S c o t t Shanks of the financial-services firm E d w a r d Jones in Gulf B r e e z e r e c e n t l y earned his Series 66 license, which enables him to be an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR).
To prepare for the Series 66 exam, which is administered by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Shanks completed a 35-hour study program. The 100-question test, which must be completed in an hour and a half, covers everything from rules in the securities industry to products, investments, economics, advising clients and types of accounts.
In addition to being Series 66 licensed, Edward Jones investment representatives are required to receive their Series 7 and insurance licenses, enabling them to offer clients a variety of annuities and other insurance products.
