CARLISLE Harold Carlisle of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on November 26, 2006. Harold was born on (or around) September 9, 1936 to Johnny and Florence Carlisle in Chambers County, AL. After his discharge from the Army, he moved his wife and family to Gulf Breeze in 1965. Harold, or simply known as “Woodrow,” by many was a small man by stature, but large in humor, character and knowledge. A painter by trade, he traveled throughout this area during the early part of his career. His love of cars led him to open Carlisle Paint and Body in 1983, where he and his son Scott worked together for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Jane Carlisle, his sister Dorthy- Jean Smith and parents. Survivors include his son, Scott Carlisle (Andriana); daughter, Amy Maxwell (Greg); sisters, Shirley Phillips (John) and Joyce Morrow; brother, John Carlisle (Sandra); grandchildren, Adam Midkeff, Aaron Carlisle and Abbigale Maxwell; a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt. He cherished his wife, children and grandchildren and will forever be remembered in stories told by friends and family. Family received friends on Thursday, November 30 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze. Memorial services for Harold were held at 11 a.m. Friday December 1 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Gulf Breeze with DeWitt Harden officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Brown, Hunter Carlisle, Chris Henderson, Jody Martin, Michael Martin, Pat McGraw, Adam Midkiff and Donnie White. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Ministry of First Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze.
