Pensacola Symphony celebrates the New Year Join the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for an evening of New Year’s Eve celebration with its annual Celebrate the New Year! performance and New Year’s Eve parties. Start the evening at 6:30 p.m. with wine and appetizers at a pre-concert party at Dollarhide’s Music Center on Palafox Place. Then head across the street to the Saenger Theatre for the symphony performance at 8 p.m. Mandolinist and jazz violinist Evan Marshall brought down the house when he performed with the Symphony during the 2005- 06 season, and he is returning for an encore performance with the Symphony for the Silver Bullet POPS! Celebrate the New Year! concert on Sunday, December 31. Marshall’s stunning technique and his flawless comic timing guarantee a night of musical brilliance and unpredictable antics. The symphony will add its own favorites, from toe-tapping classics to hard-hitting jazz, with the music of Bizet, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Miller and more. After the concert, count down the final moments of 2006 at the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s 2nd annual New Year’s Eve party at New World Landing with dinner, dancing to the music of Angie Powers and the Primetime Band, and a champagne toast at midnight. Concert ticket prices range from $25 to $65. Cost for the New Year’s Eve party package which includes both pre- and after-concert parties is $95. Purchase a $95 party package and save 15 percent on a concert ticket. Admission to the pre-concert party only is available for $25. Tickets for all events are available by calling the Symphony office at 435-2533 or online at www.pensacolasymphony. com. For reservations and information on the parties, call the Symphony office by Wednesday, December 27. |
