Gulf Breeze has a new star, as George Burton welcomed Woody Bradshaw to Primoris Records/Universal Music Group. The announcement took place at the Brentwood Business Woman's Group Fall Fest where Woody performed in an ensemble show and electrified the audience. Burton saw Woody perform in Pensacola, Fla. at Seville Quarter several months ago.
"His manager handed me his album. I asked her to give me a chance to listen to it and to call me in five days. She said, 'I won't have to. Once you hear it, you'll be calling me.' I said, Well, if he's as good on the album as he is on stage, we have a deal," said Burton. "The next night at eleven, I called and said tell Woody, welcome to Universal. We have wanted to move into the country genre and we are delighted to release Woody as our first. We believe we are launching a Superstar."
The excitement of the evening grew as Woody captivated the audience with his unique sound, raw moves, good looks and communication/connection with the audience. He performed his own music and a couple of cover tunes bringing thunderous applause. Woody's new album "Woody Bradshaw, Lightning In A Bottle" will be released to stores on November 14. His first single "The Last Thing You Do," will be released to radio mid October.
After graduating from Gulf Breeze High School, Woody went to college on an athletic scholarship, discovered theater, and was accepted into the prestigious B.F.A. program at Florida State University.
Woody supports charities for children and education. This event was to benefit the BBWG Scholarship Fund. It was a night to remember for both Bradshaw and the BBWG. Their President said, "We are ecstatic to have such an historical day take place at our event. We will watch Woody rise to stardom always knowing that it started right here helping to fund yearly scholarships for young college women to help further their careers."
Woody Bradshaw is an artist who combines a country lyric with a melodic blend of country, pop, and rock. Many of his songs convey the sense that Woody is a wild and rebellious spirit who shoots a grin at the challenges life can bring. Other songs, however, illustrate a more multi-layered, serious side Woody embodies a unique self assurance as an original singer/songwriter. He elevates the women in his songs with a deep respect and love while showing an edgy yet playful side in his more rocking tunes.
Woody will be performing along with numerous other celebrities at a benefit for the Children's Miracle Network on October 31. Woody is also impacting Europe and is scheduled to tour there next July. You can learn more about Woody at www.woodybradshaw.com.
