Lady Dolphins win two, lose at Catholic

Gulf Breeze was two points away from tying their match with Catholic before the Lady Crusaders closed out game two and went on to a three game sweep.

Tristan Powers scored six straight in game one for Gulf Breeze (12-2) before the Lady Crusaders (10-2) outscored GBHS 15-3 the rest of the game.

Ali Venezia's five straight serves gave GBHS a 6-4 lead in game two. But Catholic would score four straight and never trailed again in the game.

Gulf Breeze resident Samantha Freeman, who had six kills and 12 digs for Catholic, forced a sideout to make it 7-6 CHS in game three. The Lady Crusaders then added five straight and weren't challenged again.

Elizabeth Freeman had four kills and three digs for Catholic, while Allison Nocon, another Gulf Breeze resident, had four digs.

Celia Eddy had 10 kills, five blocks and two digs in the loss, while Tobie Bass had four kills and three blocks. Macy Miller and Lacie Brothers both had three kills for Gulf Breeze, who were on the short end of a 34-22 kill advantage. Lady Dolphins 25-21-25-25,

Gulf Breeze had five service errors in game two, including one on game point, before taking control of the match to win in four Sept. 19.

Miller finished with a careerhigh 13 kills. She also had four aces. Eddy had 12 kills, three aces and three blocks. Powers had 24 assists and four digs, while Bridget Randall had five aces and six digs.

Claire Koontz had five digs, while Tabatha VanDeWalle had four. Brothers led Gulf Breeze with six aces. Lady Dolphins 23-25-25-25,

Milton 25-16-21-18

Milton rallied from a 19-15 deficit to win game one, before the Lady Dolphins took over Sept. 18 in Gulf Breeze.

Brothers had a career-high nine kills and nine digs, while Eddy had nine kills, seven digs and 11 digs. Powers had a career-high 25 assists and nine, while VanDeWalle had eight.

Miller had six kills and three digs, while Bass had five and Randall four kills and six digs.

Catholic JV 25-25,

Lady Dolphin JV 22-22 Amberly Dowell had nine points, while Brittany Wheeler had six and Lyndsey Wright four Sept. 20.

Lady Dolphins 27-25, West Florida Tech JV 25-11

Dowell had nine points, while Kelly Hayes had seven, Wright and Rachel Harvey four each in a win Sept. 19. Lady Dolphins 25-22-16,

Milton JV 18-25-6

Wheeler had nine points, while Wright had eight and Ginny Coady seven in the Sept. 18 win.

Lady Dolphin ninth grade 22-25-17, Catholic 25-15-15 GBHS fought off four match

points against them as Tiffany Odenbrett's 10 points led Gulf Breeze. Deannette Zuniga had eight points, while Kara Cederquist had seven and Kori Ewens six.

West Florida Tech 25-11

Kevyn Sarra had 12 points, while Casey Crenshaw had nine in a win Sept. 19.

Milton ninth grade 26-23- 15, Lady Dolphins 24-25-11

Zuniga had eight points, while Sarra and Mallory Mead had six each for GBHS.
