Man found dead on Ft. Pickens beach
Above, law enforcement personnel examine the body of 30-year-old Benjamin Vaill of Pensacola found dead at Ft. Pickens on Wednesday, July 19, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

According to reports, at around 1 p.m., strollers walking on the Gulf side of the park came across the man and called the authorities. Escambia County was the first to respond followed soon after by the park service and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

As of press time, autopsy results were not released.
