Artificial reef workshop scheduled for Aug. 1-3

Chris Verlinde announced a workshop/forum for interested citizen groups, artificial reef coordinators, State and Federal managers and reef researchers to exchange information and discuss topics of particular relevance to artificial reef development in the Florida Panhandle.

The Florida Panhandle Artificial Reef Workshop is set for August 1-3 at the Escambia County Extension Office, 3740 Stefani Road, in Cantonment.

Speakers will be Will Patterson (UWF), Steve Bortone (SCCF), Bill Lindberg (UF), Chuck Adams (UF), Robert Turpin, (Escambia County), Eilene Beard (Dive Industry, Pensacola), Capt. Scott Robson (Charter Fishing, Destin), and Edwin Roberts (Recreational Anglers, Pensacola)

Speakers scheduled for the second day are Jon Dodrill (FWC), Cindy Halsey (Okaloosa County Reef Coordinator), Craig Petermann (Bay County Reef Coordinator), Ron Lukens (GSMFC), Bob Ship (GMFMC), Bill Horn (FWC) and Bill Huth (UWF).
