Game Day July 19 at Our Lady will raise funds for PB Elementary

Our Lady of the Assumption Mission church on Pensacola Beach is having a fund-raising event to benefit the Pensacola Beach Elementary School. The

Game Day" will be July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hunt Hall at the church, 920 Via de Luna. The day of games and friendship are part of the nineday celebration of the Feast of St. Ann by St. Ann Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Assumption Mission.

The day will include 20 to 25 tables of bridge, canasta, mah jongg, Bunco, and board games, as well as a drawing for a basket of goodies. A light lunch is also included.

Admission is $15 per person.

"We are encouraging people to get together tables of four to play Bunco, bridge, mah jongg, canasta or whatever, and bring their games, cards and supplies with them," said event co-chair Mary Claus. "Or feel free to come alone and we will place you with other players. Monsignor (Luke) Hunt wanted to do this as an outreach to the community."

Raffle tickets will also be available for $5, she said, for a gift basket of food, a Nina Fritz print, a special donation from Bere Jewelers, and other items.
