B.E.T.A performs 'Alice in Wonderland' The B.E.T.A. Children's Theatre is hosting a mini-musical production of "Alice in Wonderland" complete with character party. Three T's of Enjoyment will be featured in this hour long event: TEA, TARTS and TALENT !! A Mad Hatter's Tea and Queen of Heart's Tarts Reception will immediately follow. Lewis Carroll's brilliant tale, "Alice in Wonderland", is the journey into a young girl's imaginative world of indelible creations. After lunch on July 4,1862, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a thirty-year old Oxford clergyman and don (later to become universally known as Lewis Carroll) met the three daughters of the dean of his college, Christ Church, for a boating excursion up the river Isis. That afternoon was the inspiration for the classic book which introduces and shares many unique and individual characters. Featured in the performance are Savannah Green and Emily Albaugh as Alice, Bailey Schmidt as the White Rabbit, Alex Letini as the Mock Turtle, Katie Thorpe as the Duchess, Nicollette Matthews as the Dormouse, Shelly Long as the Mad Hatter, David Collins as the March Hare, Morgan Mason as the Caterpillar, and Susan Schmidt as the Queen of Hearts. The show will be held at the BETA Studio Theatre located at 17 South Palafox Suite 101 in the Brent Building across the atrium from New York Nick's Sports Grill. Adventure dates are April 21, 22, 28, 29 and 30th. Showtimes are each night at 7 p.m. and two Saturdays and one Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tea and Tarts are complimentary with ticket. Space is limited and reservations are suggested by calling (850) 432-2232 or email to betachildrenstheatre@hotmail.c om. |
