Gulf Breeze Chamber to lose Executive Director Kimbrough
Sandy Kimbrough announced she is leaving her post in May to move closer to her husband Jake, an oil company executive who was hired on a temporary basis to oversee a plant in Wadsworth, Ohio. Two years later, the "temporary" position is still ongoing. In May, the Kimbrough's youngest daughter is graduating and Sandy says it is time to move to be by her husband's side. S a n d y Kimbrough joined the chamber in May of 2001 as an admini s t r a t i v e assistant. In April of 2003, she was selected as Executive Director to fill the position left by Karen Tomasovic. In the last three years, Kimbrough presided over a growth period in chamber membership which is holding steady at 375 members. "Despite two hurricanes, we are in a more solid financial position," Kimbrough said. There have been many remarkable events in her tenure. "I have a sitcom in my head about what goes on at the chamber," Kimbrough laughed. A selection committee is being formed at the chamber to fill the Executive Director's position. |
