PLT has Short Attention Span Back by popular demand, Pensacola Little Theatre’s Studio 400 presents Short Attention Span Theatre 2006, six-one act comedies about romance and relationships. The show opens with “Date Night,” a fantastically real piece on the harsh truths of dating. This is followed by “The Conversation”, an unlikely pairing (a hooker and a nun) that is all about whether what we look like really plays such a significant role in who we ultimately are. The third one-act is “Moments Like These”, about a young married couple that meet in an airport. The play follows their lives as they fall in love, get married and have children or are they just imagining what their lives would have been like together? Following intermission, the second half of the evening opens with “America”, a true love story not only of another person, but love for your country as well. Next up is “Ohhh Henry!,” a short play that introduces us to an adorable older couple who have won tickets for a cruise and are just about to board the ship. The evening tops off with “The ‘M’Word,” which opens the door on a fast-paced conversation between a man and a woman who simply can’t utter the “M” word. The six plays in Short Attention Span Theatre are directed by Candace Jarrett, Theresa Myer and Abigail Peters and feature Contessa Gray, Thomas Cummings, Dana Snyder, Randy Paun, Margie Wagner, Jack Tyson, Kelly Comeaux and Vincent Teschel in “Date Night”; Jane Whitney and Robin Montoro in ‘The Conversation”; Kelly Comeaux and Derek Gates in “Moments Like These”; Derek Gates, Bill Whitfield and Amy Elevator in “America”; Archibald Hovnanian and Ginny Froebel in “Ohhh Henry!”; and Jack Tyson and Leslee Young in ‘The ‘M’ Word.” “Date Night” is written by Jillian Jensen; ‘The Conversation,” written by Myra Shoffner; “Moments Like These” by Don Goodrum; “America” by Rick Ready, “Ohhh Henry!” by Janet Simonson and “The ‘M’ Word” by Academy Award-winning writer, Alan Ball. Don Goodrum and Janet Simonson are both local playwrights. Short Attention Span Theatre will show in the M. C. Blanchard Courtroom, Feb.9 11, Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $8; $10 for limited café seating.
