Lady Dolphins set school record - 16 goals in one game
      On one side, Gulf Breeze has won at least one postseason match each of the last 12 seasons. On the other, Woodham has gone nine years without making the playoffs and playing its final season. Put the two on the same field and the result - a 16-0 drubbing by the Lady Dolphins. The 16 goals is a new school record for goals in a game.

Dolphin soccer suffers first loss
      The Gulf Breeze boys soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season to shut out Pine Forest 6-0 Friday in Pensacola. Cory Gibson had two goals and an assist for the Dolphins (7- 1-2), while Brad Parrish added two goals. Clarke O'Connor had a goal and an assist, while Tommy Gibble had a goal.

GBHS working on all-encompassing student conduct policy
      The administration at Gulf Breeze High has had its share of parents entering their offices recently voicing concern - and some cases, outrage - at some of the choices made by some of its coaches. School officials anticipate addressing those concerns by compiling a schoolwide code of conduct for its student athletes and coaches.

      Dolphin Baseball Camp Dec. 20-21 The Gulf Breeze High School baseball program is putting on its annual Baseball Camp Dec. 20-21 from 8:30 a.m.-noon at the GBHS Baseball Field. Head coach Randy Renfroe and his staff, along with several local college players and current member of the Mets organization Steven Cheney, will be on hand, giving instructions to campers ages 7-14.

Sound(Wave)-ing off
      The Gulf Breeze High SoundWave band recently finished second in class at the preliminaries of the recent Gulf Coast Showcase of Championships at Tate High School. They were one of 13 bands that participated in the finals, where they finished sixth.

Lady Dolphins win in Jay, snap four-game losing streak
      The Gulf Breeze Lady Dolphins snapped a four-game losing streak with a 49-38 win at Jay Thursday, but started a new streak the next night with a 73- 31 loss to PHS Friday at the Fricker Center in Pensacola. Lady Dolphins 49, Jay 38 Gulf Breeze needed a 14-8 fourth quarter to put away Jay Thursday.

Boys basketball still searching for first victory of season
      The Gulf Breeze boys basketball team cut a 14-point deficit in half in the fourth quarter before Pace went on a 13-3 run to seal a 64-47 win over the Dolphins Friday in Gulf Breeze in a battle of winless teams. Zach Andrews' three-pointer pulled the Dolphins (0-4) within one (9-8) in the first quarter before the Patriots (1-3) scored 12 of the final 17 points to take a 21-13 first quarter lead.

Dolphin wrestlers lose to PCA
      The Gulf Breeze wrestling team hosted its first match of the season Thursday, losing to Pensacola Christian 42-34. The Dolphins (0-2) won most of the middle weight matches before PCA won seven straight matches, most in the heavier weight classes. The match began in the 135- pound division, with Pantelis Peterson beating Garrett Hallbauer by a 14-6 score.

Haley Gross
      Class of: 2010 Daughter of: Terry and Cindy Gross Sports: Soccer Hobbies: Shopping, running, hanging out with friends. Goals this year: To help GBHS make it to state. Gross, who has a goal and an assist this year, has started every game this season at center mid. Soccer's a big part of the Gross household. All three of her older siblings played soccer for at least one year at GBHS.
