     The Wave, Gulf Breeze's 8-year-old All Star team, won its first five games at the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven, Mississippi.

     The Gulf Breeze 14-under All Stars won its first two games in the GBSA Summer Sizzler before the St. Bernard (La.) Rangers rallied to beat Gulf Breeze 9-7 Sunday at Shoreline Park.

de Kozan to pitch at Millsaps College
     Philip de Kozan, a 2006 GBHS graduate, recently accepted a $48,000 academic scholarship to Millsaps College. He is looking forward to playing college baseball for the Majors who finished 37-13 this past season and were ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III poll.

Local swimmers compete at Long Course Sectionals
     Several local swimmers recently competed in the Long Course Senior Sectionals July 13-16 in Athens, Ga. One of those swimmers, Kyle Cormier, missed qualifying for the Olympic trials by one one-hundreth of a second.
