JONES

Gary Eugene Jones, 63, of Navarre, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at his home from complications of diabetes. Born in Newark, New York, Mr. Jones joined the US Marine Corps in 1962 and was stationed in Springfield, Va. where he met his loving wife and best friend of forty years, Barbara Jean Bradley.

After honorably leaving the USMC with medals of Good Conduct and National Defense Service, Sgt. Jones served with the Central Intelligence Agency stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Moving to Gulf Breeze in 1979 he retired in 2003 after 20 years of service as Risk Manager for the City of Pensacola. Mr. Jones enjoyed yard work and spending time with his pets, children and wife. His generosity, sense of humor and kind spirit are an inspiration to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian Christopher Jones and wife, Christina, of Pensacola, and Sean Bradley Jones of Gulf Breeze; one granddaughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Jones; and one brother, James Jones of Pensacola. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service was held at 10:45 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Naval Aviation Memorial Chapel at Pensacola NAS with burial to follow at 11:45 a.m., at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. U.S.N. Chaplin Gerry Seely will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the home of Brian and Christina Jones. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.

WILLIAMS

Joel "Joe" Williams, age 50, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2006. He was born in Kennett, Mo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Stanley and

Ruth Williams also of Kennett, Mo., and Brooks and Beulah Rowland of Pocahontas, Ark. He was a 1974 graduate of Mount Clemens, Michigan, High School. Joe was a 2001 academy graduate of the Florida Department of Corrections and was employed as a Corrections Officers at the Santa Rosa Correctional Institute in Milton, Florida. Joe loved children, pets, and his entire extended family. He was an accomplished fisherman having worked on commercial fishing boats in Destin, Florida, for several years. He was an avid Florida State Seminole Football fan. Joe was also an accomplished billiards player having won numerous local pool tournaments. Joe enjoyed playing golf and mostly making people laugh.

This kind loving man is survived by his father, Joel Lee Williams, Sr. and stepmother, Sherry Williams, of Fort Walton Beach; his mother, Nellie Cates and stepfather, Carlton Cates of Navarre; wife, Linda Lee Williams; stepdaughters, Savannah and Tabitha; brothers, Ronald James Williams (Jenna) Gulf Breeze, Donald John Williams (Lynda) of Tallahassee; Stanley Dale Williams and Jason Lee Williams of Ft. Walton Beach; sisters, Paula Fayes Reusch, Debra Gaye Headley, Teresa Kaye Chandler, all of Ft. Walton Beach; Melinda Jo Thomen (Don) and Autumn Renee (Riley) Keele of Russellville, Ark.; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.


The family received friends at Rose Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at Gulf Breeze Church of Christ with Minister Chris Pinney officiating. Burial will be followed at Rose Lawn Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, Florida.

GRANT

Jessie Dorminey Grant, 94, died April 10, 2006 at a local hospital after a brief illness.

She was born November 22, 1911 in Jemison, Ala. to the late W.G.J. and Leona Dorminey. She lived in Alabama until 1961, when she moved with her husband and family to Gulf Breeze, where she lived until 2000. In that year, she moved to Azalea Trace in Pensacola.

Mrs. Grant taught first and second grades in public schools in Alabama and Florida for 31 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and other teachers' organizations. She retired in 1973.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Grant; her sister, Martha Oslin; and her brother, John Dorminey.

Survivors include her son, Ralph D. (Sue) Grant, Jr. of Montgomery, AL; son, George A. Grant; son, John L. (Alice) Grant; and daughter, Elizabeth (Floyd) Polke, of Gulf Breeze; granddaughters, Lynn (Randy) Harris, Jeanne (Charles) Blanchard, III, Kelly Grant and Cindy Daniel; grandsons, Kevin (Maria) Grant, Stephen Polke and David Polke; and five greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 14, at Gulf Breeze First Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Spooneybarger officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Harris, Grant Harris, Beau DeMilly, Kevin Grant, Stephen Polke and David Polke.

Visitation was Thursday, April 9, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home.

FISHER

Eric Larsen Fisher, 44 of Gulf Breeze, passed away after a sudden unexpected illness March 6, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nev., where he worked and resided for the past 10 years.

Eric was born in Pensacola November 6, 1961. He attended school in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze and was confirmed into the Episcopal Church at St. Francis of Assisi, Gulf Breeze. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three years and nine months from 1980-84. Part of his tour of duty was in Weisbaden, Germany. He received many awards and medals including selection for the Colonel's List upon graduation from Basic Armor Training and the Army Achievement medal for meritorious service as Specialist Four Tank Gunner from 1981-83.

Upon release from the U.S. Army, Eric returned to Pensacola, where he co-owned and operated Palafox Gardens, a florist shop. Later, he moved to Orlando and then Las Vegas, Nev., where he engaged in various business enterprises. Most of all, Eric will be remembered as a son, brother and friend who wanted to help others in need.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, William Fisher, III; and stepfather, Maj. Robert R. Wall.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara L. Wall of Pensacola; brother, William Fisher, IV of Gulf Breeze; sister, Barbara Jean Fisher of Milton; uncles, Heyward T. Fisher of Pensacola and Earl L. Larsen of Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews.

His ashes will be interred next to his father, William Fisher, III at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola. A memorial service will be announced by Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home at a later date.

DUGAN

William "Bill" Dugan, III, age 53, passed away April 7, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

He is preceded in death by; his father, William D. Dugan, Jr.

Survivors include; mother, Esther Dugan of Navarre; sister, Pamela Reeson; niece, Heather (Corbin) Lambert of Lincoln, Neb. and nephew, Joshua Reeson of Olathe, Kan. His beloved cats, and many friends, cousins, aunts and uncles also survive him.

Bill was a member of Navarre United Methodist Church where services will be held at a later date. After cremation, his ashes will be scattered on the water from cousin, Walt Taylor's boat.

TRAHAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 430 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements.
