Navarre soon will be getting about four miles of multi-purpose pedestrian paths compliments of Santa Rosa County. If the county's public works department can do the project, it will cost the county $295,000. If it has to be contracted out, the price tag will be slightly higher.

It seems that those people that wanted to have impromptu rap concerts and make a point that "the beach belongs to everyone" stayed home due to the large numbers of police that were on hand to be seen everywhere!

A 1996 Dodge van driven by Naim David Alhermini, 60, of Navarre slammed into the southwest front wall of Pensacola Pools at 3480 Gulf Breeze Parkway on Tuesday, May 6. The driver told investigators the truck's brakes failed. "We thought it was a bomb; it was that loud," store clerk Debbie Welch said. "Thankfully, none of us was working in that area of the store when it happened." Alhermini was ticketed for faulty equipment, and the truck was towed. There were no injuries. Damage to the building was estimated at $5,000.

Workers are currently installing the bar joists, which will support the roof, and finishing up the brickwork on the exterior. Dolphin football team hoping new positions result in more wins

Coach Chris Nemith is hoping that history can repeat itself. When Nemith took the football head coaching job in April 2003, the program was as low as it could get. That 2003 team came in after going 0-10 the year before and as the old movie goes, they were mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. The result was the team's fifth playoff berth in school history.

Several lifters who work out at Chip's 24 Hour Health and Racquet Club set state records at the recent Florida State Powerlifting Championships in Pensacola. Chip Holston, owner of Chip's, set a state record in the Raw Powerlifting 220-pound Sub-Masters division. He squatted 565 pounds, bench pressed 475 pounds and dead lifted 575 pounds for a total of 1,615 pounds.
